ITU Maritime Faculty is continuation of Merchant Navy Boarding School which was founded in 1884. ITU, as a university mainly composed of graduate engineering schools and research laboratories, works closely in collaboration with enterprises and other economic and social partners.
In this department, of which training principle is based on interdisciplinary training, maritime management instructions such as maritime law, marine insurance, port and terminal operations, transportation systems, maritime management, maritime economics, personnel management are given along with the courses on basic engineering, vessel technologies & engines, maritime meteorology and oceanography.
